• Millville Army Air Field Museum Launches ''Taking Flight'' Campaign

The Millville Army Air Field Museum (MAAFM) proudly launches
its “Taking Flight” Campaign, dedicated to ensuring the Museum will continue its
mission to EDUCATE our youth about “America’s First Defense Airport” of World
War II, HONOR our veterans, and PRESERVE our heritage.

Since 1988, the Millville Army Air Field Museum has annually welcomed more
than 5,000 visitors and hosted free programs to educate students, honor veterans
and active military, and preserve the important World War II history of America’s
    1st Defense Airport.

“Many individuals and businesses have joined our 1941 Society with an annual
pledge that has enabled us to ‘Take Flight’ into the public phase of this campaign,”
explains Lisa Jester, MAAFM executive director.

With the support of other community-minded individuals and businesses, the
“Taking Flight” Campaign will make the Millville Army Air Field Museum and its
mission of Education, Preservation and Honor sustainable into the future.

    • The 1941 Society serves as the Museum’s leadership giving program,
beginning at $1,941 annually and including recognition levels through to the
    “Group Commander” level.
    • Taking Flight provides opportunities for donors to support capital projects,
endowments, and naming opportunities that help preserve and enhance the
    Museum’s historic facilities.
    • An historic Legacy Society recognizes those who remember the MAAFM in
their wills, trusts, or estate plans — helping ensure that the history of America’s
First Defense Airport is preserved for generations to come.

“Together these opportunities allow individuals, families, businesses and
foundations to support the Museum today, while investing in its long-term
    sustainability,” notes Jester.

More information about the Taking Flight Campaign is available on the
Millville Army Air Field Museum website or by contacting the Museum at

in P-47 ‘Thunderbolt’ and P-40 ‘Warhawk’ fighter planes.

The Museum’s historic complex includes four original, restored WWII buildings that are recognized in the
New Jersey Historic Register. The Museum honors all aspects of military and aviation history through its
