    The person holding this position is under the responsibility of: 
    • Production Supervisor

    Job Summary

    The main objective of this position is:
    • Packaging Team Lead is responsible, under guidance of the Production Supervisor, including but not limited to ensuring all production runs during the shift are within target standards for quality, safety, waste and efficiency in the Packaging Area.  Responsible for all packaging employee’s activities.
    TASKS & RESPONSABILITIES
    Packaging Lead Tasks:
    • Ensure that all CCPs are controlled according to the required procedure
    • Coordinate all line start-up or changes in varieties
    • Ensure optimal adjustments of equipment and intervene in order to avoid stoppage on the line and to minimize product loss
    • Immediately explain to the supervisor or his/her representative any deviation from standard procedure
    • Ensure the continuity of packaging on the line, by emphasizing efficiency, loss reduction, quality of product, good industrial practices and security standards
    • In case of stoppage, ensure that all equipment is in a stop position and that the lockout procedure is implemented by all those working on the line
    • Ensure the continued supply of raw materials, components and various supplies
    • Fill out daily production paperwork
    • Ensure that the necessary packaging personnel are present at the start-up of the line and during production; ensure line in not over manned, inform supervisor if personnel are needed
    • Ensure all employees have the required training so that they can adequately carry out their assigned duties
    • Make supervisor aware of any operational or mechanical problems that arise during shift and communicate problems to maintenance department
    • Ensure that cleanliness and order is maintained in work areas
    • Work in cooperation with maintenance and quality to ensure that targets and goals are met during shift
    • Execute all other tasks related to the position
    • Responsible to coordinate and manage all packaging employee breaks and activities

     

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Strong command of packaging processes and equipment knowledge

    Knowledge & other requirements

    • Strong leadership skills
    • Detail oriented and organized
    • Computer knowledge: Microsoft office, Minitab, SAP
    • Working Knowledge of Food Safety

    Academic requirements/ Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent experience
    • Basic math skills
    • Must be able to read, understand, speak and write English

    Work experience

    • 2 years in the food industry
    • 2 years in operations department

    Working conditions

    ·Location: Vineland, NJ

    • Work hours: Hours and duties are subject to change

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift- up to 50pounds
    • Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing or moving. Physical activities include frequent use of hand tools, bending, stooping, lifting, climbing stairs, carrying, walking and/or reaching regularly, repetitive motion

    Packaging Team Lead starts at an hourly rate of $28.93 with 2% annual bonus potential
