As the NJ Veteran Business Services Representative for Workforce Development, Henry Bass is dedicated to facilitating the employment of veterans within designated local workforce development areas. His jurisdiction encompasses the following seven southern counties in New Jersey: Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland, Cape May, and Atlantic.

Mr. Bass collaborates with employers, associations, and business groups to design and implement strategic plans that promote veteran hiring. His key responsibilities include:

• Labor Exchange Registration: Educate businesses on the benefits of registering with the free NJ National Labor Exchange at US National Labor Exchange - New Jersey Self Service Site
• Recruitment Events: Organize and conduct both virtual and in-person recruitment events, which may be held at Local One Stops or directly at businesses.
• Outreach and Promotion: Inform local businesses about the advantages of hiring veterans and encourage the utilization of the one-stop delivery system to identify qualified candidates.
• Program Development: Partner with unions, apprenticeship programs, and businesses to create and secure employment, training, credentialing, and licensing opportunities for veterans.
• Job Search Assistance: Perform job searches on behalf of employers to connect interested and available veterans with suitable job openings.
• Relationship Building: Establish and maintain professional relationships with businesses and community organizations (e.g., Veterans’ Affairs facilities, Chamber of Commerce) to enhance awareness and utilization of the one-stop service delivery system.
• Coordination: Collaborate with local business services teams and actively participate in business outreach initiatives.
• Public Speaking: Address veterans’ organizations and community groups to promote employment services and veteran employment.
• Federal Contractor Guidance: Provide federal contractors with guidance on the process of recruiting qualified veterans.
