• Universal Member Services Representative (Part-Time)

    Overview:

    The Universal Member Service Representative provides professional, accurate, and efficient service to credit union members while supporting the overall operations of the branch. This position performs a variety of member service and operational functions, including teller transactions, account servicing, responding to member inquiries, and providing general branch support. The role is designed to develop broad knowledge of credit union products, services, procedures, and operations while ensuring a consistent and positive member experience. This is an entry-level position to assist wherever member and operational needs are greatest, including teller transactions, account servicing, member inquiries, and general branch support.

    This is a part-time position, dedicated availability on Saturdays (8:30am-12:30pm) is required. Work hours will be scheduled based on branch staffing and operational needs, approximately 20 hours per week. Flexibility to work during regular branch hours and provide coverage as needed is expected.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Welcome members and provide courteous, professional service in person and by telephone.
    • Process routine teller transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, transfers, and other member transactions.
    • Maintain appropriate cash controls and balance assigned cash drawer in accordance with credit union procedures.
    • Assist members with routine account questions, transaction inquiries, online and mobile banking assistance, debit card questions, and other general service needs.
    • Assist with opening and servicing member accounts after completing required training and demonstrating proficiency.
    • Identify member needs and provide information about appropriate credit union products and services.
    • Refer members to the appropriate team member when their needs require additional expertise or authorization.
    • Provide teller-line coverage and assist other branch functions based on staffing levels, member traffic, and operational needs.
    • Maintain knowledge of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures.
    • Follow established procedures for member identification, transaction verification, cash handling, security, privacy, and fraud prevention.
    • Protect confidential member and credit union information.
    • Complete required training and develop proficiency across assigned teller and member-service functions.
    • Assist with general branch duties, including opening and closing activities, recordkeeping, filing, and other operational tasks as assigned.
    • Maintain a professional appearance and contribute to a positive, cooperative team environment.
    • Perform other duties as assigned based on branch and organizational needs.
    • Ability to lift or carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

    Qualifications:

    A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Relevant customer service, cash-handling, financial services, or credit union experience is preferred but not required. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer proficiency, attention to detail, accuracy in handling transactions, sound judgment, confidentiality, dependability, adaptability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
