Citizens United To Protect The Maurice River - International Waterways Cleanup / 10-2-26

Join CU Maurice River for its annual Waterways Cleanup, held in partnership with The Authority and the Cumberland County Clean Communities Program. In conjunction with the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup, this worldwide effort brings volunteers together to remove litter and debris from rivers, bays, beaches, lakes, and streams, helping protect wildlife and improve the health of our waterways.
 
At both Millville locations, volunteers will work along the river and surrounding areas to collect litter and debris that have accumulated along the shoreline, trail, and upland areas. Whether you can help for the entire cleanup or just for part of the morning, every pair of hands makes a difference.

Over the years, volunteers have removed an incredible variety of litter, from tires and shopping carts to plastic bottles and other debris. Become a CU Litter Obliterator and help make a tangible difference for the plants, wildlife, and communities that depend on a clean and healthy Maurice River!

Trash bags and gloves will be provided, and there will also be a limited number of trash pickers available for use during the event. Participants are encouraged to bring their own supplies if they have them, such as gloves, pickers, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, or buckets
