Citizens United To Protect The Maurice River - Family-Friendly Friday: Monarch Mania / 9-25-26

Celebrate the wonder of monarch butterflies during this Family Friendly Friday program with CU Maurice River's Membership and Special Events Coordinator, Cyndie Hornblower, founder of Wonderland Waystation. Get up close with live monarchs and their host plant, milkweed, and discover their incredible life cycle, their awe-inspiring migration along the Delaware Bayshore, and the important role they play as pollinators. You'll also learn how to create butterfly-friendly habitat at home to support monarchs and many other beneficial pollinators.
 
After exploring the garden, families will enjoy a monarch-themed craft and plenty of time observing these remarkable insects in action. Monarchs, like many migratory species, face numerous challenges throughout their journey, but even small actions, such as planting native milkweed and nectar plants, can make a significant difference. Come for a fun and inspiring morning of discovery, creativity, and conservation.

Participants should be prepared to be outdoors for the entirety of this program.
