Citizens United To Protect The Maurice River - CU Saturday: Birds & Blooms By Bike / 9-19-26

Join CU Naturalist Karen Williams for a leisurely bike ride through Peaslee Wildlife Management Area, where late-summer wildflowers and resident birds create a vibrant landscape to explore. Bring your bicycle and binoculars and travel through a variety of habitats, stopping along the way to observe seasonal blooms, identify birds, and learn about the ecology of this remarkable preserve.
You’ll explore how this landscape contributes to the Maurice River’s Wild and Scenic character and supports Outstanding Resource Values, including the region’s exceptional wildlife habitat and biodiversity.
The large expanses of Peaslee Wildlife Management Area, Holly Farm, and The Nature Conservancy’s Manumuskin Preserve play an important role in maintaining the pristine water and habitat qualities of the Maurice River watershed. Together, these protected lands form part of one of New Jersey’s strongholds for biodiversity and threatened and endangered species.
Whether you're an avid birder, a wildflower enthusiast, or simply enjoy spending time outdoors, this guided outing offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the natural landscapes and remarkable conservation values that make the Maurice River region so special.
