ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION DELAWARE VALLEY CHAPTER IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CUMBERLAND COUNTY OFFICE ON AGING & DISABILITY SERVICES, INSPIRA HEALTH AND ACTIVE DAY TO HOST VIRTUAL COMMUNITY FORUM 5/12/21
Family and professional caregivers, seniors and community providers are invited to take part in a virtual Community Forum on Wednesday, May 12, from 10-11:30 am. Hear a brief overview on Alzheimer’s, dementia and memory loss. Share your thoughts about how we can help people in your community. The forum provides an opportunity to come together to ask questions about the disease, share personal and professional experiences, learn about available resources and discover volunteer opportunities to support families affected by the disease. “We understand the importance of Alzheimer’s disease care and support programs and services throughout New Jersey and especially in Cumberland County,” said Mary Beth Lewis, program manager, Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter. “Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia continue to be a significant burden for too many New Jersey families. We must continue to work toward providing care and support services to the 190,000 in New Jersey living with the disease, their loved ones and care partners.” The Alzheimer’s Association believes no individual or family should navigate the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease alone. Community forums hosted by the Association bring together families affected by the disease with dedicated staff, volunteers, caregivers and community providers to open conversation in an effort to bolster resources, programs and services to support families in their communities. Working together, the Alzheimer’s Association can ensure families have the resources needed to face the many challenges associated with the disease. Community partners and volunteers are essential in helping the Alzheimer’s Association best serve the needs of families affected by the disease, in driving awareness and in mobilizing the community in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Joining speakers from the Alzheimer’s Association at the forum will be community partners from the Cumberland County Office on Aging & Disability Services, Inspira Health and Active Day. Registration is required at 800.272.3900 or at: https://action.alz.org/mtg/73863276.
