| Join CU Maurice River for a fun and informative session exploring the world of butterflies with CU Naturalist Karen Williams and CU Membership and Special Events Coordinator Cyndie Hornblower. This engaging presentation will explore what makes butterflies such unique and important pollinators, from their fascinating life cycles and behaviors to the critical ecological roles they play in healthy ecosystems. Participants will also learn about several common New Jersey native butterfly species and the specific plants they rely on. After the presentation, stay for a hands-on make-n-take activity focused on propagating native plants from seed. These native species are specifically selected to attract butterflies and provide essential host plants for caterpillars, supporting local butterfly populations. This workshop offers a practical way to turn knowledge into action, empowering participants to create butterfly-friendly habitats that benefit pollinators and strengthen local biodiversity.
