The WheatonArts Urban Oasis pollinator and wildlife garden provides a dedicated site for CU Maurice River outdoor education, including nature journaling and stewardship outings. This demonstration native garden was established and is maintained by a dedicated volunteer force to support the biodiversity and water quality of the Wild and Scenic Maurice River Watershed.
To ensure the garden’s continued health and prepare the grounds for the WheatonArts EcoFair, CU Maurice River is hosting a spring cleanup. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome to assist with stem removal and invasive species management. It’s a great chance to make a real difference and help CU Maurice River keep this space as a model for wildlife-friendly and native gardening.
Wear clothes that are appropriate for gardening activities. We'll provide tools, but if you have a favorite gardening implement, please bring it. We recommend bringing water and sunscreen. Insect repellent is also suggested.
