| Join CU Maurice River for the annual Waterways Cleanup, in partnership with The Authority and the Cumberland County Clean Communities Program. Held in conjunction with the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup, this worldwide effort brings volunteers together to remove litter and debris from rivers, bays, beaches, lakes, and streams, helping protect wildlife and improve the health of our waterways. This year, CU Maurice River will be conducting a shoreline cleanup by boat in Millville, working from the dam downstream along the Maurice River. Participants must bring their own boats as volunteers work their way along the shoreline, collecting litter and debris. Some trash may have washed up onto the upland, so some volunteers should be prepared to get out of their crafts to reach these areas. Waders may be useful for those who have them. From tires and shopping carts to plastic bottles and other debris, volunteers have removed an incredible variety of litter over the years. Become a CU Litter Obliterator and make a tangible difference for the plants, wildlife, and communities that depend on a clean and healthy Maurice River. Volunteers must provide their own boats, paddles, and PFDs. Waders may be necessary for some spots as well. |
