Join CU Naturalist Karen Williams for a guided biking tour through the stunning landscapes of Belleplain State Forest. Bring your binoculars and hop on your bike to explore one of Southern New Jersey’s richest natural areas, home to an incredible diversity of habitats—from cedar swamps and hardwood forests to salt marshes. As you ride, Karen will point out flora and fauna, offering insights into the ecology and seasonal rhythms of the Pinelands National Reserve.
Established in 1928 and shaped by the legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps, Belleplain offers over 40 miles of trails perfect for biking, birding, and discovering wildflowers in bloom. Whether you're a seasoned naturalist or simply curious about the natural world, this tour is a perfect way to immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of late summer.
All attendees must provide and transport their own bike. Dress appropriately for the weather. Use of sunscreen and insect repellent is recommended. Be sure to bring plenty of water and a snack.
