Vineland Public Preschool Program Seeks Members for its Early Childhood Advisory Council

Brandi Gatier, the new Community & Parent Involvement Specialist for the Vineland Public Schools Preschool Program, is seeking members for the Vineland Early Childhood Advisory Council (VECAC).

The VECAC provides input and advice on the planning and implementation of the free preschool program, which operates in 11 locations for 3- and 4-year-olds. “With the help of the community, we feel that the word of free preschool can get out to families in need and really help our youngest learners get into school at a young age,” Gatier said.  “We attempt to raise registration numbers as much as we can each and every school year.”

The VECAC’s goal is to foster nurturing educational environments that strengthen families and prepare children as lifelong learners.  It participates in community needs assessment to support these endeavors.  Community members, parents and education professionals for students in pre-kindergarten through third grade are encouraged to join the Council.

The Council meets 6 times per year.  If members are unable to attend, technology is available to keep them engaged in the Council’s activities.
