In cities\, green spaces filled with native plants offer food sources for butterflies\, bees\, birds\, and more. \; \;This garden features coral honeysuckle (Lonicera sempervirens)\, a favorite of the ruby-throated hummingbird\, and butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa)\, a type of milkweed used by monarchs to lay their eggs on for the next generation.

\n Studies by Doug Tallamy have shown that even modest increases in the native plant cover in suburban properties significantly increases the number and species of breeding birds. Using native plants in \; neighborhoods and corporate landscapes can restore ecosystem function lost due to habitat fragmentation.
