They are putting their paddles to the fun-raising task in support of CU Maurice River's stream conservation and education work. Kayakers can make a positive impact while enjoying the scenic beauty and recreational value of Down Jersey's national treasure\, the Wild and Scenic Maurice River.\n\n\n\nJoin the paddle-a-thon by registering for any of the three Raise the River paddles scheduled for August 1 and 2\, 2025:\n\n\n\nThe Twilight Tour - Friday\, August 1\, at 6:30 pm. Join CU Naturalist Tony Klock for this easy merry-go-round of Shaw's Mill Pond located in the Bevan Wildlife Management Area. \n\n\n\nWild Rice-N-Wildlife - Saturday\, August 2\, at 8:30 am. Ride the tide from Union Lake Sam down to Burcham Farm with CU Executive Director Karla Rossini. During the downstream trek\, there may be a stop at the Maurice River Bluffs PReserve to explore the wetland vista from the upland. Afterward\, enjoy a riverside deli-style potluck lunch.\n\n\n\nCreek Cruiser's Delight - Saturday\, August 1\, at 1 pm. Join the morning paddle for a riverside lunch before taking an adventurous and scenic paddle from the main stem Maurice River to the Menantico Ponds. While most of the way is fairly easy to manage\, there will be a few obstacles to maneuver around.\n\n\n\nCU Staff will coordinate pick-up an drop-off of cars and drivers betweent he put-in and take-out points.
